E-Verify

PSI Background Screening is an authorized E-Verify service provider through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service’s E-Verify Program. Understanding the Process

In the U.S., it is unlawful to knowingly hire or continue the employment of unauthorized workers. The IRCA, or Immigration Reform and Control Act, requires employers to authenticate a new hire’s eligibility status by completing the Form I-9 and viewing the documents provided by the new hire. E-Verify employment verification takes this process a step further. It compares the information that the new hire provides on the Form I-9 to data from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA).
